Faith United Milton services are held Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in the Masonic Hall, 6321 Regional Road 25, Milton. We have one Zoom service per month. Please see Worship Page and sign up for emails to receive up to date service and time information. Generally, there are no services scheduled during July and August.
Let’s start by saying that we do our church a little differently.
We have no minister on staff and we don’t own a building that we need to maintain. We are a Community of Faith with the United Church of Canada focusing our attention on outreach. As such we have made the conscientious decision that the largest portion of our givings go to local, regional and international outreach projects. Not to administration, staff or building expenses.
Everyone is welcome to attend and experience our worship service. It doesn’t matter if you have no religion, are of another religion, or if you’ve simply never been to church before. You will be greeted warmly, treated with dignity, and your privacy will be respected. No one will try to “convert you”.
Our worship service is generally 1 hour.
You will be met at the door by one of our greeters. If you wish, we will introduce you to others. There is a lot of visiting and chatting as people catch up with each other. Coffee is always available. Please help yourself.
You can leave any time you wish but quietly please if we are in the middle of something.
Faith United is fully accessible on the main level. However washrooms are not fully accessible as they are up a small flight of stairs.
There will be 1 or 2 readings from the Bible each Sunday. The Christian church as a whole provides guidance on which scriptures to read and it rotates on a 3-year cycle known as “the lectionary”. However as our church is unique we sometimes choose what we feel is appropriate for the message.
Prior to the service, we gather for refreshments and a social time. If you’re a newcomer, you are most welcome. It’s a great way to get to know people.
We usually celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion every six weeks or so. Everyone is welcome to participate in this sacrament, however if you don’t want to participate, you are perfectly welcome to stay in your seat.
We all like to be comfortable and want you to be as well. So no need for your "Sunday best". Come dressed in whatever makes you feel most comfortable.
We encourage singing with joy no matter your skill level. (Or listening if that is more your style.) We have talented musicians who play instruments and sing. Sometimes we pick beautiful selections from You Tube.
The offering is an act of worship for us. It is symbolic of the fact that we believe everything we have comes from the blessings of God. It is also an act of generosity. It is perfectly acceptable to let the offering plate pass you by. If you put your gift in an envelope with your name and address we will make sure a tax receipt is sent to you.
The largest percentage of our offerings are used for outreach.
